UVA Manning Institute Of Biotechnology: Announcement
Led by a $100 million gift from philanthropists Paul and Diane Manning, the University of Virginia, the Commonwealth of Virginia, and the Manning Family Foundation formed an unprecedented partnership to create a $350 million biotech institute that will accelerate medical breakthroughs and revolutionize patient care.
The multifaceted campaign addressed multiple audiences: Virginians suffering from chronic illness seeking advanced health care within the Commonwealth; policymakers in Richmond and Washington, D.C. to demonstrate the value of University-led initiatives and benefit to their constituencies; and business leaders and biotech researchers who will find entrepreneurial opportunity in the region with the founding of this biotechnology hub.
A powerful expression of Great and Good, the new UVA Manning Institute of Biotechnology will serve the people of Virginia, and the world, for generations to come.
